I had this happen to me fishing this summer. An Osprey dive bombed a buddies fishing lure and took off with it. It got tangled in his /her talons. My friend had to reel this poor bird in and we cautiously removed the line and lure. The bird was very calm, we weren't sure if it was going to try and defend itself but it seemed to know we were helping. Thankfully we were successful and it flew happily away.
