@obelic71 The last ex-USN DE , BRP Rajah Humabon, was retired from the Philippines Navy in 2018 at the ripe old age of 75. The last of three ex-Coast Guard Hamilton class cutters that was acquired in 2016 stepped into her role as an APV. The tow remaining WWII vessels in the Navy are two ex-Auk class minesweepers, with the RPS Quezon having reached 76 years old in 2019, while her "younger" sister, is a mere 74 years old. Both vessels will probably not last more than a year or two longer in Philippine service as more modern patrol vessels come on line. Both vessels served long periods in reserve before being acquired by the Phillipines navy so neither would qualify as oldest in continuous commission. Even the Humabon served nearly ten years in reserve, so she technically wouldn't qualify either. Very few ex-USN warships transferred to foreign navies didn't serve some time in reserve before being transferred. It was, however, a good guess.

Presumably you meant "tugs", although there are such things as Navajo rugs. :-)

@Drachinifel And, to be technical about it, the first pom pom was not the 2 pdr but the 1 pdr 37 mm gun used during the Boer War. The story is the name came from native Africans when they first heard the gun fired on full auto.
