  1. Oh my. My best friend, Rick, just lost his best friend of 15 years, Gizmo. Rick is a big guy, 6'3" and 220 pounds of muscle. Gizmo was a tiny guy, maybe seven pounds soaking wet, but he was as big a guy as Rick in so many ways. I loved Gizmo too, and Rick and I both shared a good cry as Gizmo breathed his last. If there's a heaven, I have no doubt that, before I see God, I'll see Gizmo, barking his friendly greeting, and waiting for his usual treat.
