  1. What happened in Poland also emboldened the White russians and the allies to think the Red Army wasn't really capable of fighting and winning. Even though the White Russians were the ones who eventually lost, the performance of the Red Army helped convince Hitler that the Red Army was weak and disorganized. He also believed the anti-Bolshevik left over the Russian Civil War would come over to side of the Germans when he invaded the USSR.
