My dad's relatives are from Pulaski County, next one over from Carroll. It's a poor area, and a man's honor was about all he had. Cross him on that and things end up like the courthouse shootings. I still heard people talking about the Allen's when I was visiting, and a lot of it was that they did what they had to do. Not a good place to go around kissing girls that don't belong to you.

Where did you get the idea was apologizing for anyone? I was merely writing what I heard when I was there. These people were not like Hell's Angels. The were mostly regular folks, and nothing was going to happen to you, especially if you were a stranger. It was the people who had deep roots that had things to be worried about.
