Wait a minute. Olive Ann was responsible for many of the financial decisions that kept the company going, but she had almost no role in any of the design or engineering functions of Beech. It was Walter that was the designer of the Staggerwing. She was so naturally conservative in business matters that it was her decision not to produce jets until after the Learjet was introduced, after making the decision not to buy the Learjet company. That decision almost did Beech in before she was removed and less conservative management took over. I know it's women's month, and Olive Ann was a good business leader from the 30's to the 50's, but she didn`t design airplanes and made some really poor decisions about things she knew little about.
