  1. Cleveland had about 920,000 people in 1950, the top of the population count. In 2017, it's down to about 335,000. a 64% collapse. Cleveland has so many vacant houses that demolition companies are the fastest growing business in the city. So many houses have been demolished that areas of a half mile square and more are nothing but urban prarie. Deer and coyote now roam freely in sections of what used to be neighborhoods. Cleveland's unofficial slogan is "At least we're not Detroit".

  2. Right, and that's why my very first sentence said "no great suburbs within 10 minutes", something you claimed in your post. Virtually none of the cities in list are within 10 minutes of downtown unless you have your own helicopter or have a special lane where you're allowed to drive 100 mph. Every one of the cities you listed is at least 75% white, and most are 90% or more. The closer they are to Cleveland or the greater the percentage of blacks, the more the population has declined since 1970. People with money are moving to places like Pepper Pike, which more like a gated community than a normal city., and even that is a half hour from downtown on a good day.
