  1. Another Excellent video. /the Constabulary also established the first highway patrol, mainly to police the autobahns and cut down on stolen US vehicles and black market smuggling. They were generally well regarded by German civilians, but the one thing that West Germans couldn't forgive was establishing speed limits on the those autobahns. They were one of the first things to change after West German independence in 1949.
