  1. Thanaks, Mark. The Battle of Los Angeles is the one I used for my college history/psychology paper. It was to demonstrate how fear, hysteria, and panic can create their own reality, even to the point that we'd say that things actually happened when all the evidence was it didn't, and "deniers" would denounced as unpatriotic. I never expected to see a modern demonstration of the same kind of hysteria, by this time on a global scale. Ironically, we've even chosen the same way to deal with threat, just as they did in 1941 - lock people up until the threat goes away. I never expected Americans to ever again meekly surrender their constitutional rights, but here we are.
