  1. The Swiss killed more allied airmen than Allied bombings killed the Swiss. There's zero solid evidence these bombings were anything more than mistakes. There is evidence that the Swizz permitted Luftwaffe intelligence to inspect interred US bombers, a clear violation of their supposed neutrality. The s=Swiss din't have clean hands on almost aspect of the war. We knew that German aircraft were being allowed to deliberately fly over Swiss territory, most often in pursuit of damaged bombers, but also as an air bridge between Italy and Germany. We should have sent the Swiss an ultimatum to stop attacking allied aircraft that strayed over Switzerland or their aircraft and airbases would be destroyed.
