  1. What the US found out from that risky mission was, except for the airframe and some basic weapons, the Hind-D/Mi-25 bore almost no relationship to the Soviet Mi-24. As usual, the Soviets were happy to sell the Mi-24 to countries like Libya for a healthy cash payment and some cheap oil, but there was no way they were going to have an unstable third country lose their latest systems and weapons. The Air Force found out the Hind D/Mi-25 had almost everything on board at least one generation behind Soviet systems, and almost all of them were known to the US. Hard to tell if there were any actual secrets found, since the whole operation is still secret, but it seems doubtful that the US learned anything commensurate with the risk.
