  1. Excellent video about a sketchy mission. It's possible Task Force Baum could have succeeded with enough close air support. Patton didn't give the air force enough time to come up with a coherent plan to cover the operation so what air support Baum did get was mostly ad hoc, mostly gotten through frantic radio calls. Very few infantry carried either the M1Ai or M9 "Bazooka" anti tank rockets so their ass was really in the wind once their armor was knocked out. Just an ill advised and poorly planned mission, and the failure was all on Patton's shoulders.
