  1. Our Walmart parking lot is littered with gloves all the Karens take off and throw wherever they like. I'm 74 and will not wear a mask. I have COPD, and a mask reduces my oxygen intake by 5%. I don't have 5% to spare. In addition, once a mask gets wet from your own breathing, it becomes dangerous -- to you! We all have viruses that live in us but are kept under control by our immune system. Once you reduce your oxygen intake and start rebreathing your own exhalations, you run the risk of activating those viruses and making yourself sick. Wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, and stay away from people the best you can. There's nothing magic about six feet. Just try not to get in front of people's faces. Wear gloves and a mask if it makes you feel better, but don't kid yourself that they are offering you any real protection.
