  1. Antonov has been kept busy retrofitting turboprop engines into piston powered AN-2 airframes. What's more amazing is that Antonov is about to restart production of a new version of the AN-2. Still a biplane, it will have a five blade turboprop engine with some of the body panels made of carbon fiber composites. There are supposedly several hundred orders for this new version. Not bad for an airplane first flown in 1947.
