  1. I still have the hospital bill from when I was born in Ohio in 1946. My mom was in the hospital with me for four days and the total bill was $19.60. Oh, and an additional $2.00 for the anesthetist. Not exactly free, but pretty close. In 2018 dollars, that still only 27.36 for the anesthetist and the hospital bill is $268.14. You can't even get a room in Motel 6 for four days for that.
