  1. I think the biggest problem with caseless ammo is always going to be production costs and replacement of existing ammo stocks. We have about 125 years of experience producing cased ammo and and have gotten production costs down to ridiculously low prices. That's a big deal when a production contract for 40 million rounds ins't unusual. Having to tool up for producing caseless ammo and cucking the hundreds of millions of 5.56 rounds we have in inventory just isn't cost effective when caseless ammo is one of those "gee whiz" kind of solutions to a problem that doesn't exist.
