  1. Given the jungle environment of SE Asia, something like the AR would have been invented. It may have been an FAL carbine in some kind of intermediate cartridge, but we wouldn't have spent almost 20 years in SE Asia flailing around with a full length 7.62 rifle going up against the AK.
