  1. The Salton Sea was created in 1905, not the 1950's, as flood waters overtopped a pair of floodgates into the Alamo Canal. It took the Southern Pacific railroad almost five years to stop the flooding, Slab City is not an "abandoned city". It was never a city. It was a Marine base named Camp Dunlap. It was a WWII training base with hundreds of concrete slabs used as foundations for Quonset huts, . It was officially abandoned by the Department of Defense in 1956. The DOD signed a quitclaim deed to the State off California in 1961. The concrete slabs are used as RV slabs for snowbirds during the winter. Contrary to the idea there are NO LAWS, the state provides fire protection through the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, ambulance service is provided from the town of Niland, four miles away, and police protection is provided by the California Highway Patrol and the Imperial county Sheriff's Department. At least do some research before you post a video.

  2. "...incredible abandoned city.." From the first line of the description, Then he said "It used to be a military base...". It can't be both an abandoned city and a former military base. Abandoned city sounds spookier though.

  3. No, Toilet, as I said, I spent five winters there. He managed to share all kinds of misinformation about Slab City, as well as use completely wrong clickbait title. Correcting the mistakes is not to make me look smart of these guys look stupid. It's just to correct misinformation.

  5. Dave, of course not. These guys have every video with the same formal for titles. Something SCARY and with something else scary FOUND. In answer to some of the inane posts I've read here, I lived full time for seven years in my RV and spend five winters in Slab City. I do know what I'm talking about.

  6. Toilet, it must be tough to read two paragraphs and a psentence. They managed to share a bunch of errors while using a clickbait title to draw people in. If you think sharing things that are wrongs is OK while people who read and watched their stuff became stupider when it was over, fine by me.
