@jacoporegini8841 Enland and France encouraged Poland to adopt an intransigent stance towards Germany by promising armed support. When Germany did attack, Poland was abandoned to her fate. She didn't stand a chance. The defenders of Westerplatte died waiting in vain to see an English warship emerging from the mist.
