Comments by "Richard Maunder" (@RJM1011) on "Rubber Tracks on Tanks - Are they worth it?" video.
All depends on what type of rubber is used same with snow tyres on cars and trucks. The all metal tracks I use on forwarders wear too much if dry and people keep saying they do too much damage to roads and other. I would say the rubber tracks they are using on the CV90 are very good and I have also seen the new roads that were built on Salisbury Plain so the tanks and other did less damage with their metal tracks. The only time I have seen rubber tracks knocked off is on mini diggers where the person did not check them and they were lose but they were a lot quicker to put back on to the machine than metal ones. I would like to see how these are fitted to AFV's to see how quick they could be fitted and kept tight like if they were knocked off by an IED or other how quickly could you refit them or put a new track on ?? Thank you for the video.
