@carlosjosejimenezbermudez9255 But neo-classical economics (the economics of neoliberalism, which is the kind overwhelmingly taught in universities) is not even a social science anymore. It's an extreme right wing ideology pretending to be a science, one promoted by the likes of von Mises and Friedman, men promoted by the American deep state to serve as the apologists for neoliberalism (corporatism, rentier capitalism). Unlike classical economics which genuinely did aspire to being a social science that accurately described how real economies work, neo-classical economics is nothing more than abstract theorising devoid of empirical proofs. Apparently, the CIA looked at Karl Marx, Adam Smith, Ricardo, etc. and didn't like what they said about capitalism and where it was headed so they replaced it with something akin to Lysenkoism that was much more palatable.
