  1. It's a non‐starter and they know it. It's just for propaganda purposes. I suppose the European Union could en bloc boycott the General Assembly but I highly doubt the USA, France and its protégé Britian would be willing to leave their seats on the Security Council empty. The last time that happened (USSR under Kruschev) it didn't end well: the Korean war broke out and there was no one to veto it. The rest is history.

Rather than democracy coming to eastern and central Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall a series of US‐backed colour revolutions occurred in which a think tank trained and funded comprador class came to power. In the case of Poland it was led by a certain shipyard worker from Gdánsk, a man chosen to be Washington's point man Warsaw.
