  1. If the practice is sufficiently widespread and there is no genuinely popular desire amongst a majority of the population to end it then, in my opinion, it should be legalised. Africans banning a widespread cultural practice merely to appease some self-rightious white people in the West (where its male equivalent is unashamedly practiced) is absurd and smacks of cultural imperialism.
