  4. Only up until when the USA recognised the PRC as the sole government of all China in its bid to sow division between China and the Soviet Union. After that, no. (It would also have been a stupid idea, triggering an immediate invasion by the PRC, one which I think the Americans would neither want nor have be able to have stopped, unlike a Chinese invasion of the ROC).

  5. For the term "the West" use "the American empire", it's more accurate imo. And Kalinigrad is not an EXCLAVE of Russia; it is an ENCLAVE . The country that surrounds it is the exclave.

  9. Don't forget the British navy and airforce; distance alone would have meant nothing without Britain having had a world-class navy second to none back in the 1930's and 40's. If you were to compare the British navy today to back then, in a rerun of history things might be very different.
