And exactly what do you expect people to do when you throw them out of work and ghettoise them? Have they failed the capitalist system... or has the capitalist system failed them? I would say the latter. And it's not just immigrants; native French people are also suffering from the effects of de-industrialisation and globalisation too, both consequences of the boom-bust cycle of the capitalist mode of production and its inbuilt tendency towards a declining rate of profit leading to things such as outsourcing and automation in a bid to reduce costs and keep profits stable. You blame the victims of the system for the failures of the system instead of seeing France's social malaise as a natural consequence of the French economy's inability to deliver prosperity for all its citizens, as well as the wider (white. Catholic) society's unwillingness to deliver on the promise of equality, social acceptance and egalitarianism for all.

It seems like it's you whose acting like you're entitled.

If democracy means being responsive to the will of the people and the people as a whole hold revanchist or irredentist feelings then greater democracy would be counterproductive, so what do you mean by a proper democracy? Is the EU a proper democracy?

Is the USA behind any of this or is it completely spontaneous?

By the "lower classes" I presume you a referring to the 99% who aren't billionaires and multi-millionaires; those upper classes who own more than 50% of the rest of the world combined.

It's capitalists, not socialists (not if they're real socialists anyway), who engage in outsourcing, financialisation, automation and policies that lead to de-industrialisation and mass unemployment. Blame the aristocracy, not the peasants. Blame the king (Macron – la petit roi) and not the sans culottes.

Or just The Blue Zone.

Because they have been willing to accept their second class status and also are fewer in number, often returning back to India rather than staying permanently. They are immigrants and from the very beginning are under no illusion as to their status and purpose: cheap, exploitable, expendable labour. Immigrants from France's colonies on the other hand came as a people with every expectation that they would be, as French citizens from the very beginning, rewarded for their hard work by acceptance and accorded the same rights and treatment as every other French citizen. France it would appear has failed to keep its side of the bargain.

Europe, a peninsula of Asia, must integrate economically with it as much as possible so the whole combined (Eurasia) can be the most economically, politically and militarily powerful bloc on the planet. This will take a lot of political will and the building of a lot of infrastructure to accomplish, but it can be done. The USA, of course, will seek to prevent this and that's why it can never be considered a true ally of Europe over the longer term.
