  1. I wonder how many loopholes it will have and which countries will 'creatively' interpret it in a way that still allows them to get Russian oil. You know, the way the USA is still getting Russian oil. How much is for show and how much is real.

  3.  @hakjie1112  What the EU is proposing is absurd, cynical, probably unworkable and selfish. Furthermore these plans are almost guaranteed to cause major economic and political crises right across Europe and even further afield. It's madness what they are proposing. This stupidity and culpability on the part of the European Union's leaders must stop now... or risk being stopped later by large scale protests and maybe even civil unrest, which no one in their right minds wants.

  5. I personally doubt it's due to incompetence. The negative consequences for Europe and the wider world of these sanctions were so easy to predict that to say that they are anything other than anticipated and desired would be pushing credibility too far.
