Considering that Britain caused the war with Germany in the first place by declaring war on it first and that the USA actually secretly semi-supported Germany and went to war with it in part because the Soviet Union was going to win and take over Europe, I'm not surprised. You shouldn't go round starting fights and then expecting others to finish them for you.
