@CDX7 Russian aggression‽ You mean like defeating fascism that the West had sicked on Russia? The Warsaw Pact was created IN RESPONSE to NATO, not the reverse! The USA only invaded France when it realised that the Russians (anti‐capitalists/anti‐fascists) were going to win and if they didn't act soon a large part of Europe would fall out of the control of the very people who had bankrolled Hitler in the first place, US and British capitalists. Considering that Russia had just survived an invasion by the skin of its teeth, 20 millions dead, by people who were anti‐communist, only to have yet another army amassing on its borders (including a re‐armed and re‐nazified Germany and Japan) who were also anti‐communist I'd say it was a shrewd move by Stalin.
