  1. The expansion of NATO is economic more than anything else. The USA uses it to prop up its military‐industrial complex and the wider economy more generally. Then there's the huge amount of graft (corruption) that lubricates the system that NATO, along with the EU, provides. The military power it provides is simply a bonus.
