The USA is being as 'friendly' with Russia as Hitler's Germany was with the Soviet Union when it signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact.

@marekokragy3341 The Russian government tried to form an anti‐fascist alliance with Britain and France but was continually rebuffed. Eventually, they only thing left was to form an alliance with the Germans in the hope that it would prevent war, or at least buy some time. Also, Russia was an economically developing country at that time and was in need of things Germany had. And another thing is that Britain, France and the United States were also cooperating with Germany, as were the Swiss. Britain, France and the USA even had their own fascist movements.
