  1. Allowing? Allowing! No one "allowed" the Russians (Soviets) anything. They were viciously attacked by Germany (and by extension western Europe and the USA which helped fascism to rise with every intention of using it to ward off communist revolution) and fought every inch of the way to Germany, losing literally tens of millions of people along the way. The USA only did D-Day (the seaborne invasion of France) because the Soviet Union was winning the war and looked as if it was going to get everything, much to the chagrin of France and Britain which had helped cause the war and the bankers and corporations in the USA that were financing it and and everything to lose by a Soviet victory, as well as wanting to reconstitute western Europe in terms advantageous to themselves.
