@sirvidia Ah, when it's the Chinese you call it "eradicating a culture" but when the USA and the West do it it's called by the much nicer sounding cultural assimilation or integration. Even indigenous peoples like First Nations Indians, Native Americans, Maori and Aborigines are expected to conform to western cultural diktats (think America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand's forced removal of children from their parents and their violent deculturaton in state schools). Westerners, Americans in particular, think non-westerners should adapt to the majority white Christian, English speaking European culture when they come the their countries , yet think immigrants and minorities in places like China should be at perfect liberty to form virtually separate countries. In the West right now the issue of non-white, non-western immigration is high on the agenda because of fears, stoked by the media, of foreigners not assimilating (think what irrational fear and hatred words like 'sharia law', 'female circumcision', 'polygamy', 'honour killings', 'arranged (child) marriage' evokes in westerners).

The point I'm trying to get across is that the United States and a few other countries are using fundamentalism - Islamic, Christian, Buddhist and Hindu - as a means of sowing discord and encouraging secessionist movements within countries. The Chinese are cognizant of this and also of the fact that the USA has been specifically targeting its Uighur ethnic minority (like it did Tibetans previously) for radicalisation and infiltration by fundamentalist jihadists, the same kind that were used in Libya to overthrow the government of Muammar Qaddafi and in Afghanistan to overthrow the government of Najibullah. Whilst not wanting to condone the genuine abuses of Uighurs by the Chinese, I understand the motivations behind it. It poses a moral dilemma.

The fault of the USA and the eurocrats in Brussels of you ask my opinion. By expanding an economically hostile EU and a militarily hostile NATO into territory that is close to Russia's borders despite repeated warnings not to do so they have created this crisis within Europe.

Probably because, like the German Waffen SS and their death squads at the end of world war 2, they were guilty of committing war crimes and massacres and could thus expect no mercy from their enemies.

Red or yellow - it doesn't matter. Both sides are monarchist and capitalist and thus none is really for the poor. And the USA will be there, keeping Thailand safe for western corporations.

It's a sad war for sure. Two great and proud people, so alike in so many ways, divided by outside forces using them as pawns against each other. Hope this war between brother slavs will be mercifully short and with as few casualties as possible and that they can be reconciled. Also that the malign influence of the USA in making Europe go against its best interests is ended too. We should all be allowed to live in peace and not have to worry about world war 3.
