  1. ​ @Leonard-td5rn it's called infanticide – getting rid of unwanted babies, typically because they're physically handicapped. Today we call it abortion and declare it to be an inviolable human right. So, does the the West practice child sacrifice? I bet you'd say no. A better example would be the Aztecs and the Inca; now they did practice human sacrifice, as well as infanticide.

  4.  @desiderata8811  They could be as brutal as anybody but, generally, I would say that contemporaneous Chinese society was on the whole less brutal than ancient Roman society and more developed economically. Their most brutal age had been in the previous Chin dynasty, the one that preceded the Han.
