  2. How many poles, 2, 3? If there are only going to be 2 or 3 poles then that will be just like the 2 or 3 political parties in so‐called western democracies: there will be little to no difference between them. Under such a system no one should expect a Chinese or Russian pole to come to the rescue of the oppressed and exploited in a US or European Union pole. Russia for instance is capitalist-corporatist so will have no qualms in joining the United States in preventing a resurgence of communism. Ditto China .
