What does the fact he was a vet have to do with anything??? So he is a vet. Thanks for your service. But you are no different then anyone else who is or was in the same situation. If he was out past the time allowed it’s in his union contract.

@MarkJohnson-ye4zz CTA is absolutely unionized: “ Chicago Transit Board Approves Contract with Largest CTA Union February 18, 2022” The fact he has PDST is irrelevant. No difference between that and fighting cancer. If benefits are expired they are expired. And him being a vet is also irrelevant. Like when a person is killed in an accident no mention of the occupation unless : Nurse/ Paramedic/ Firefighter/ Police officer/ teacher. If the person that was killed was a current or retired factory worker no mention of it. The fact he was a vet has nothing to do with the fact his benefits expired.

@tillettman No usually. However if the policy expired that’s what was written in it he should have known what the policies are. He was given ample time off.

@allthingshome6953 He is being treated like any other employee. My point in my first comment was that him being a vet has nothing to do with his job. He has plenty of time off. The company suppose to hold his job indefinitely???? Go on permanent disability and leave the job is what he should have done. But to expect the company to hold his job indefinitely and the other employees cover his work is ridiculous. Short term no problem but indefinitely??? The company would be doing this regardless of his “ vet” status. So he is being treated accordingly.
