At least this time it's warranted while they carry out track repairs.

I am not sure as a teacher how they would ever get over this. They would feel so protective in general.

Why are they flying airliners in danger zones to begin with?

How is that helpful ? All it puts in perspective is how silly people have acted over masks when you have these poor innocent kids lives taken somehow on what should have been a joyous day for them.

Well it hasn’t been proven so why would you claim responsibility? If someone said you struck and killed someone with your car and you know you were at home at time would you just say ‘yeah it was me’?

To people who don't know much about Sydney they are not talking about Sydney City here just to clear that up. It can get a bit confusing when they call everything Sydney even when it's out west or down south.

Far too much emphasis on males being the only violent perps is why this slipped under the radar. The Govt just conveniently lets it slide that women can be just as violent as men. I can’t imagine the anguish that poor father faced.

I really hope these sorts of tragedies lead people to drive safer too. Just think before acting as you have no idea if coming around the next corner could be a bus load of innocent kids when you do that crazy blind overtake during the Xmas break just to get to a destination a bit earlier. Let's all help look after the safety of each other in meaningful ways.

It kind of puts things into perspective hey?

@suuo4595 Actually it can happen easier than you think. Without proper set up the wind gets underneath and the design of the device causes lift. In any case i am sure they will get to the bottom of it but for now it's more important to be there for the ones affected and leave the authorities to work out what happened so it doesn't happen again. I remember there was an incident overseas where a giant kite got caught by a sudden wind gust and blew people out to see and they were only transporting it at the time. Wind can be very dangerous without proper precautions. As for those bubble things they just look too dangerous to be honest. I hadn't seen those before only the giant ball you see in the old Coke advert used in the water.

It would only take a slight misjudgement in the dark in a storm. Plus one of them actually got hit by the mainsail and was smashed into the winch. The crew didn’t actually say the boom but the sail itself so possibly it was partly entangled in the storm. Keep in mind they are focusing on racing too so it’s not like they are out for a pleasure cruise. The media said the boom on the first one. Both were experienced anyway but tragedies happen at sea. Nothing you can do to totally prevent it if they want to keep the race going. It has always been bad conditions in some areas yet the safety record stood for over 20 years. I guess we will find out once they do a full enquire anyway.

Yeah it is sad but they are doing what they love and know the dangers. Better than getting smacked by a bus driver that ran a red light.

She probably wasn’t told until it was too late to go on air. It was a story that was broadcast just after it happened. YouTube is always delayed when they put it up. I wouldn’t be criticising baed on what time you are watching it on social media . I would have expected a Xmas theme attire really . I have no clue what that was meant to be lol

There is always an element of danger with these races no matter what safety precautions are taken. They love the sense of danger and excitement and to dull it down too much nobody would even bother to participate.
