Just buy a Lexus if you can find one lol. I wouldn't trust anything else anymore.

Why when it's in every inferior to the Kia? Though the best Kia is still to come. The Stinger is the one to get which is streets ahead of the Mazda but even the Optima is far better built using far better grade steel than the mazda. Even the suspension is far better in the Optima. For one thing the Kia also looks stunning . The mazda has a butt ugly front end grille that ruins the whole look of the front which is otherwise nice. It looks more like something you would expect on the CX9 but not a sedan. The Kia is far better looking.

You are right Mazda is a yawn. At least until they bring back the sports versions with the turbo engines.
3
Clear covers don't work on modern cameras and if you use a spray at least in Australia you will be busted by the cops.
3
Who would buy a 2017 Optima when the Kia Stinger is soon to release though? The Optima is a far better car. It has even been put against the Mercedes C class but it is more expensive than the Mazda.
3
It does look weird that you can see the paint on the inside of the door frame from the cabin though. That kind of spoils the look a bit. The dashboard layout is also really messy but i guess most small cars seem to be these days.
3
Actually it's nowhere near as good, suspension is not as compliant or sophisticated in the Mazda compared to the Kia and the steel used in the Kia is actually streets ahead of the quality used in the Mazda. The Stinger will be the one to get though , i would skip both of these cars and wait for the Kia Stinger.
3
The point is the more rigid the structure the softer the suspension can be. Look at reviews , when you buy the higher end Mazdas with the larger wheels the ride is too firm and not compliant enough. This is the main reason the Euro cars and now the Kia and Hyundais rate well in suspension compliance is because of the rigidity of the car including the subframe. Mazda still has a ways to go to match it. There is nothing wrong with the Mazda but it still uses an older design and is not as comfortable or quiet to travel in as latest cars are is all.
3
So now they just cheat and they are not heads up displays ? . That just looks so cheap and nasty in an otherwise good interior.
3
Basically similar cars as built on the same platform. The optima is more comfortable though and sportier than the Hyundai especially in turbo guise but i would hold off until the Kia Stinger arrives as if nothing else the price of the Optima will plummet. They arrive in September in Australia not sure about USA release date though

Who would use a camry as anything but a Taxi though?
2
You do realise that is just an incorrect statement. KIA use high strength steel which Mazda hasn't even introduced into the 6 yet. The Mazda warranty is lacking too meaning they aren't even interested in standing by their own car.
2
Not true , High strength steel affects the rigitidy of the structure as well. The more rigid the structure the softer and more comfortable the ride can be. This is the concept behind the Kia Stinger with 55 percent high strength steel. The mazda is nowhere near this body rigidity and it has rather noisy suspension components too.

It might not be broken but always room for improvement. I'd hold off for at least the 2018 Mazda 6 as they will be adding quite alot to in in order to keep up with the competition by then. the 2018 Subaru Liberty is stepping up it's game finally and adding in acoustic glass to side windows as well as front , revised suspension , active turning headlights , Apple car play finally. The game will be tougher next year in any case. Then we have cars like the Stinger which could upset quite a few sales for Mazda if it gets going. It is certainly much more exciting compared to a Mazda anyway. Have a look at the latest Stinger videos. The interior is way above the Quality of the Mazda.
2
Well there are going to be 6 models of the Stinger in Australia - 3 grades for the 4 cylinder turbo and 3 for the 6 cylinder twin turbo. Prices start in the 40's and range upto 60. Mazda Atenza high end is nearly 50k in Australia so it's a fair comparison based on the 4 cylinder turbo version of the Stinger.
2
Yeah way too much , it looks unfinished when you can see inside door paint from inside the car. The front seat backs are cheap and nasty too. They look plastic. Overall it's not too bad but i don't understand the point of fake leather stitching on a dash when the rest is plastic. It looks rather silly.
2
Everyone knows they are bad anyway :)
2
Stop whinging about the price it is almost 50k on the road for the turbo in Australia. Other negatives are crappy noisy gearbox. Not smooth with changes. No All Wheel Drive which it should have with a Turbo charged engine. The other problem is it is Korean so the more you buy the less jobs for your people. Support your local industries and not companies importing.

Why a Camry though , there are far better cars . Even the Subaru Imprezza is a far better buy than the Camry. There is a new Camry coming though which is pretty much a total redesign however it actually looks worse than the current one and the sportier models have 4 tailpipes which really doesn't suit a Camry that is not really sporty at all. It does apparently however lend alot more from the lexus platform so it will be alot more comfortable and better sound proofed than the current one.

Fair enough , they don't sell the Fusion in Australia unless it is the same or similar to a Ford Mondeo? I love Subarus over Mazda any day anyway. The 3.6R is far better than anything Mazda produce. However i am more interested in the Twin turbo Kia Stinger which is set to really shake things up with Rear Wheel Drive, 19 inch 35 series tyres plus it includes 5 mode electronic suspension as standard. The new Hyundai version is out next year too though it could be as much as 10k more expensive than the Stinger. Unless Subaru plan on releasing a Legacý/Liberty STI turbo the Kia would be the one to get for this price range. There is an AWD Stinger in some markets but it's not offered in Australia worse luck.
1
i drive the subaru 3.6R and it's a great car, i didn't drive the 2.5I though. If you are in a winter area i would stick to an AWD subaru though as the front wheel drive Mazda won't be nearly as surefooted.
1
That sells pretty well in OZ.
1
@arthurmroyce Still plastic crap interior though. They really need to work on cabin quality.
1
I don't like the cheap cabin plastics Kia use though.
