I know someone back in the early 90's in Australia that bought 5 blocks of Land for 20,000 dollars and built houses on each one then rented them all out. Today they are worth millions. You just had to get in at the right time and the right decade.

@pwp8737 USA already has major health issues. Do you really want kids coming home with all that candy first day 😁

You need to be super rich or have super rich parents in OZ to buy property though too. The median house price is 1.2- 1.6 million in most areas now. if you compare that to the 1970's you could buy house and land for $18,000 dollars. Just put that in perspective as wages have risen but not by that percentage difference. if you go back to the 1940's you could build a house and buy the land for about 300 pounds which is exactly what my grandfather did. Basically we now live in a false economy where everything is artificially inflated in value and it is only getting worse every single day.

I am just as disgusted in Australia where megalomaniac companies now control the natural resources here and get Government tax payer subsidies to continue to rip us off and make billions in profits. Back in 70's and 80's Australia was so self sufficient and even had it's own refineries. The fact this was ever allowed to change should have been treason and the Govt that implemented it should have been jailed years ago. Of course all that happened is they too became millionaires off the back of the tax payer. The same thing here has happened with the privatisation of roads and infrastructure. These companies are allowed to continually put the tolls up every year to the extent it is not even worth travelling on those roads anymore unless you absolutely have to. This is a disgusting and greedy world we now live in.

It is only a temporary issue for Germany though isn't it? . I was told you are building Gas infrastructure there quickly so as not having to rely on USSR for your gas supply?

Oh so the same thing either way?

BTW the truth people with Electric cars refuse to face is that most of the materials that make up that shiny new electric car are produced with oil based products including that shiny new paint . The only way to go green is to walk. Even riding a bike, the tyres are produced from oil.

Australia has the same system as Germany as far as filling the car with petrol. That is just weird you have to go and tell the attendant how much you want to spend like the USA if you don't use the auto pay at the pump lol.

Hi, I managed to get most of them but Aldi was really interesting. It is quite a popular store here in Australia now too.

Hello how is the wrist? I eat the same way as you in Australia so it's not just Germany lol. New week start in Australia is Sunday too. I find it weird people call Monday the first day of the week lol. Sunday in Australia as far as trade is concerned is the same as public holiday just as a random fact for you. ISO stands for International Organisation for Standardization which i think sounds like a made up thing but it is legit. I don't celebrate New Years Eve personally as i don't drink alcohol but traditionally it would involve traditionally to the city to watch the fireworks but that gets old fast as an adult and so does trying to fight your way through a crowd of 1 million people to get out again. Of course with covid we aren't even sure there will be a fireworks display in Australia this year.

That was really interesting as in Australia back in the day when I first started school the choice was to go or get a boot up the arse lol. I am thinking the dentistry industry would love kids having all that candy at so young an age though. The school supplies is a really practical idea though.

How would anyone not know about Das Boot when it is such a well recognised and famous movie? . Even in Australia it is widely known so it seems odd to mention this one. The poison one was funny though.

Skipping Xmas this year but you enjoy if you are still into it. i just don't see the point of it anymore or the bullshit that surrounds it.

I thought all new cars had paddle shifters. My Lexus is an 8 speed semi auto with paddle shifters. Just assumed most new cars would be like that.

Maybe they feel like i do. Don't buy anything that you can't take with you when you shuffle off this mortal coil :)

That is odd as a beverage is Australia usually only refers to hot tea or coffee.

I've never understood why people waste money buying a coffee from a shop in the mornings when they drive to work. Why not just make one and put it in a travel mug? . Almost all cars these days have cupholders do they not? . It's just a total waste of money to buy a coffee from a shop when you can make better tasting ones yourself at home before you leave for work.
