@janicecowie3946 Here in Australia red light runners are everywhere since the pandemic. Also people cut each other off at roundabouts. There is just no courtesy anymore. Not that long ago most people were kind and looked out for each other on the roads and watched at all times for pedestrians etc.

Drivers need to slow down and pay attention. Regardless of right of way it is still the responsibility of the driver to look out for potential danger. Everyone is in way too much of a hurry. How do you not see a group of people on the road? Saddest time of year to lose a little girl too they will never feel like celebrating Xmas again.

Do they not have flashing don’t walk signs for pedestrians to warn them after it has the walk indicator? Here is Australia the other light does not go green for a couple of seconds after the other pedestrian don’t walk stops flashing red first. Regardless driver at fault here as they weren’t watching which I believe could result on vehicular manslaughter there.

That is weird as here in Australia the cross lights flash several times as a warning with a don”t walk sign however there is still a delay from when traffic lights turn from green to red and vice versa anyway. Larger areas have a traffic island in the middle with an extra set of pedestrian lights as it’s unlikely you can make it right across in one go at some.
