  1. Absolutely. Look at it like this....... this is our present reality, but it's also the past. The distant future does exist, we just haven't gotten there yet , but once we arrive, the present of now becomes the past of the distant future. But because we haven't gotten there yet, our current reality is the present. We still exist because we haven't arrived at our destination, but the distant future says that we already have and is learning about the past in it's time, meanwhile, we the present reality still exists and is on our way there. We haven't arrived/ but we did arrive. The distance future sees our current present of reality as the past and we see the existence of the distant future as a reality we haven't yet arrived. So in short answer.... each current present reality is the past of the future. So yes, people who lived in the 50s and 60s are still alive in their current present reality, which we see as the past.
