  2.  @Mythraen  For it to be defensive, we would have gotten reports of an attack on us military personnel. But word of a planned attack is no reason to strike first. Back in the day, America's rule of engagement was.... Don't fire unless fired upon. That rule protects the us military from looking like the aggressor and the bad guy. Now it's strike first before they get a chance to attack us. America has went from being the good guy with a gun to being the guy who does the Mass Shootings.
