Giant tech companies don't help the economy they help GDP. GDP is just an easy but imperfect proxy for the economy. Look at the numbers adjusted to local purchasing power and the economies are much closer. It ids better to gocus on lots of small to medium sized companies and do some trust breaking on the huge ones.

@saiyedakhtar3931 You did a better job of saying it than I did and I agree completely. If I wanted to keep the same quality of apartment and I moved back to where I could live in a similar walkable areas as I live in Germany I would need about $70K/year just to pay for the cost difference in rent. That would not even pay for food and other increases. I have looked at the numbers and as best I can tell I would be worse off if I went back to the USA and others I know and work with are worse off. I just don't see the USA doing so amazingly better.

@saiyedakhtar3931 If I moved back to the USA to live in a walkable area I would end up somewhere like Boston due to the industry I am in. Rent there is about 4x what it is where I live now. Any area that needs a car is not a viable option.
