  1. The EU should have been involved from a negotiation standpoint but lets be honest most of the reason that NATO is not working well is because of EU countries. It is supposed to be a mutual defense treat and quite frankly outside of maybe France and a few eastern EU countries none of the countries can actually hold up the mutual aspect. Germany, for instance, has the strongest economy in the EU but has not even spent the bare minimum agreed to for NATO on their military. If Russia or China invades the EU I am sure that the USA will intervene but I don't see the EU coming to the aid of the USA because I don't think they have the capability to.
