There are ARM server chips like the graviton's that Amazon has available. However they are not clearly better than current Epyc processors that are also available. There are some type of software they run better and some types of software the Epyc chips run better. It is certainly not clear to me that ARM will win on performance or power usage.

Why do you think that the future is RISC? It could be case but the evidence is not clear. The M2 and Ryzen 6000 series mobile processors are pretty similar in terms of performance and power usage and mostly just better at different tasks.

@zionen01 The M2 is not considerably ahead of the 6000 series AMD chip. It is faster in some things and slower than other and both get around the same battery life. The M2 is MUCH more power efficient than Intel chips are right now. There is no question about that at all. The Intel chips are faster but they suck down a lot of power to do it. On the cloud end I have tested ARM vs AMD EPYC chips and for some things ARM is better performance/watt and for others AMD is. Both are continuing to get more efficient and I don't see a clear answer of one being better than the other. RISC vs CISC is a pretty silly argument at this point and indicates little understanding of how these chips actually work.

You should see what those X3D chips due for HPC applications. Some of the benchmarks on those chips for computer simulations are amazing.

@cobrakainevereverdies6940 Why would you disassemble systems you already have? That makes no sense at all. You mentioned the 5800X3D performance in single threaded application and while that is impressive they are MUCH more impressive at high performance computing applications.
