  1. In biotech we have a weird mixture that is also pointless. All calculations are metric, measurements are metric, the surface area of filters etc are all metric. The cartridge sizes tend to be in inches and the funny part is that it doesn't matter, and most don't even know it is in inches. You have a size 30 cartridge and it goes in a size 30 cartridge holder and the size 30 part refers to 30 inches but the size of the cartridge does not enter into any calculations.
