@coppermoth6069 The USA uses first past the post voting. If you vote for a 3rd party it is the same as voting for the politican you are most opposed to. If you vote for Jill Stein it is the SAME THING as voting for Trump. The math for our voting system is pretty simple. We have the worst possible voting system that can be created and this is the unfortunate reality of it.

If you vote for a 3rd party candidate that it the same as voting for the candidate you are most opposed to. It is just the math for our voting system. We use first passed the post and it is a truly awful system. It is pretty clear that Trump will be worse for the vast majority of people compared to Kamala. It is entirely possible he would lead to a civil war or just try to end elections.

@coppermoth6069 Because of how first past the post works if you vote for a 3rd party candidate it works out to be the same as voting for the candidate you are most opposed to. Would you prefer to have Trump in charge or Kamala? Those are the only two choices you have.

Our voting system, first past the post, only supports two political parties. Voting for a 3rd party works out to be the same as voting for the candidate that you are most opposed to. CGP Grey has an entire series on voting. Basically voting for Jill Stein is the same as voting for Trump. I know people are told to vote for who they want, etc. etc. but that is not how our voting system works. There are much better voting systems but we basically use the worst possible voting system. Even random chance is more likely to lead to a better outcome.

@coppermoth6069 That we will have another election in four years. That women will still have rights. That we will still have a department of education. That we won't use the military to go after political opponents in the country. It is really a very simple choice. Politics is not a game you win. It is a game you play to keep playing. So long as there is another round you have more opportunities.
