  1. If you want to deal with traffic you need something that moves a lot of people per unit time per volume used. It is really that simple. These pod type systems CAN'T work. They can NEVER work. The density is just far too low. This is fairly simple math. If you want to deal with traffic you build walkable and bikeable areas so that most trips don't require going a long distance (think local grocery stores, barber shops, bakeries, restraunts, etc.) and you use trains to move large numbers of people between walkable locations. So far that is the only method that we actually know works. Maybe if we invent transporters in the future we can look at other options but we don't have that technology.
