Brexit is the gift that keeps on giving. At least in the USA we got rid of the orange one and the new leader is competent and boring, which I am very thankful for. It looks like lots of actual work is being done and things will get better. Meanwhile, it looks like the UK is just going to keep getting worse. I stand by my prediction that Brexit will do more long term damage than Trump.

Looking at the UK is like watching a train accident. The front of the train has already derailed and the hundreds of sections following on are just piling up and crashing one by one.

It makes me feel bad that the USA continues to support Israel with money and weapons. I think Hamas is wrong to be firing all those rockets but I also think that Israel should be showing a lot more restraint. The balance of threat is not remotely the same and that can be seen from the casualties. The current approach being taken seems to be if enough power is used that will cause the other side to quit and I can't see that happening. It is the same tactic the USA police use which escalates every situation and it doesn't work. I have no idea why so many people believe it. Continuing to take people's homes and invading mosques is not a path to peace. Making sure that most Palestinians can't vote is also not a path to peace. Iran and others funding groups trying to destroy Israel is not a path to peace. The core problem is Israel never should have been created after WW2. It was carved out of land that people already lived in and displaced a huge number of people. Of course, that was going to cause a problem. It doesn't matter why it was done just that it was done. I would expect the same kind of problem to occur between any two groups of people on earth if you did the same thing. You could carve out a chunk of America and give it to Canada and I would expect long term problems there also, not as extreme but still long term problems. Does anyone expect the problems in Northern Ireland to ever be solved until Northern Ireland rejoins Ireland?

I have never had a job in my entire life where a tie was required or even expected. Ties belong to history and can stay there.

The UK sure has done an amazing job of shooting themselves in the foot ... leg ... arm ... head ... etc. I do feel a little sorry for the UK but considering how much it has done to screw over the world for the last thousand years ... not that much.

Mostly if you are from the UK the news is bad. If you are not from the UK the news is pretty good for the same news. I am sure the EU would have preferred if the UK was not making so many own goals and would have remained a member but this does seem to be doing a good job of convincing others that leaving is a stupid idea.

I think the reality is the voters are not undecided. They just don't want to admit they are voting for Trump despite everything he has done. They don't want someone else to ask them why. I don't think we just magically ended up with more racists. I think many people where already racist and just knew now to admit it in public.

I wish Germany and other EU countries would actually enforce laws they already created about social media on Musk. Shut Twitter down before it destroys the country. We know this is how a lot of the hate spreads. Trump needs that hate to function and Musk is who creates a lot of it.

This is really sad. Something has got to change with the way our economies run. We have some people that have more than they could ever need or even use and others with nothing. People are not being paid what they are worth they are being paid as little as companies can get away with and the heads pocket the difference.
