This is one of the things I have loved about moving to Germany. Life is MUCH less stressful.

I work in Germany and most of my coworkers are in the USA. The quality of life in Germany is VASTLY better. I have fewer working hours and a lot more vacation time. I also have better job protection. At the end of the month, I also have more money in the bank because the cost of living is much lower. Taxes are higher but they also cover more stuff.

Mostly I watch educational and tech content that you don't see in other places. Youtube is great to find good technical information on motherboards, cpus, cooling fans, headsets, game controllers etc. There is also a lot of history and engineering content that I like to watch.

@crandonborth the VAST majority will never make enough for that to matter but they will have a worse life. I also know people that where millionaires in the USA and got very seriously ill and lost everything. Even with very good insurance they still ended up losing it all. In order to be safe you need to make tens of millions of dollars.

Fallout 76 had a bad launch but the game has been getting a lot of updates and has a good population.

I think we need to have a huge round of trust breaking and make almost all companies medium sized or less. With that situation not only is there more competition but also no company is too big to fail and if they violate the law you can shut them down. The current system also makes it easy for larger players to keep others out of the market while if you had lots of smaller companies that would not be the case.

To me this just look like a control issue for the most part. They don't have the workers under their thumb as much when working from home and they want the workers to return. However, those same companies don't have their officers in a place that people can live nearby and you are expected to give up 1-2 hours/day in unpaid work just to work for them. I think the other part of the issue is that the executives are also invested in commercial property and that is apparently doing badly right now with so many people working from home.

I think we have made college a business that demands to be fed so they keep making more money. I think that many people would be better off not getting a degree but we have made our society look down on that. One thing I have learned from spending some time in Germany is that they have many different career paths including trade schools and I have not found that people look down on people that go to them. Those jobs pay well and are very stable.
