  1. 100km long barrel and constant acceleration will allow shoot things to escape velocity with moderate G-forces, ~80G. If the barrel is standing straight and vacuum pumped empty, then there is no air resistance.

  2. Just build long enough ladder and you can walk away from the earth's gravitation field. There might be have some techical difficulties, but that's why we have engineers. :P
